Tributes Pour In for Marian Robinson
Barack Obama called his late mother-in-law, Marian Robinson, “an extraordinary gift,” vowing to honor her legacy. The Bidens also shared their condolences, remembering her as a loving, unconditionally supportive mother and grandmother.
Born in 1937 on Chicago’s South Side, Robinson raised two children, Craig and Michelle, and supported them through every stage of life. Her husband, Fraser, died in 1991 after battling multiple sclerosis.
Michelle Obama, reflecting on her mother’s passing, shared on her podcast, IMO, the bittersweet realization: “You’re next up” — a reminder of the shift that comes with losing a parent.
